After the Dredge - Risk

That gold dredging is risky goes without saying, but the details of that risk are what make the dredger’s stories so compelling. RISK starts off with an overview of what exactly it is that gold dredgers do and the daily peril they put themselves in. We then move on to the mechanical failures that are inevitable during dredging and what the consequences of those breakdowns could be. Next we clear the table of all but the crew of the Wild Ranger. Sparks are sure to fly when Scott, Steve and Vern are forced to confront each other for the first time since their ill fated and often contentious 2011 gold season. The Pomrenkes will spearhead a discussion on the challenges of dredging when family dynamics are thrown in the mix. Zeke & Emily then take the stage alone to hash out the pitfalls of sexual tension and unrequited love on The Bering Sea. Finally, the gang will discuss the difficulties of squeezing the last few days out of the season once the Winter ice closes in on Nome.

After the Dredge - Reward

The rewards of gold dredging go beyond the elusive gold itself, and often the “rewards” are not pleasant. REWARD begins with the cast discussing why it is they put everything on the line to mine gold from the floor of The Bering Sea and how they turn that precious mineral into real world items and cash. Steve, Shawn, Robbi and Cody then take to the table alone to give us some insight into life on the biggest, baddest and most expensive dredge in the fleet. When the topic of Robbi’s accusations against the Pomrenkes is broached, things are sure to get tense. A trip to the volcanic hot springs leads to near disaster for Zeke, Emily, Scott and Ian, as a blown tire causes their jeep to run off the road and flip into a swamp. Every dredge lost a crew member this season and every one of them had a good reason for quitting or getting fired. Tensions run high and tempers flare as the dismissed crew members all get to finally have their say. This season, Scott and Ian found that having two captains on one dredge is a recipe for disaster. When they face off alone at the table things could get uncomfortable in Santa Barbara. As we wrap of the season, the gang will talk about what the experience of being on a tv show has been like and pull back the curtain a bit to give the audience a taste of the lighter side of Bering Sea Gold.
